Staying in Shinagawa, Hamamatsucho and Shiodome

This part of Tokyo is the gateway to Haneda Airport and the Shinkansen, so many guests stay here for a night or two before a flight or a long train journey. Becoming ill the night before you leave is stressful. A doctor can see you in your room the same night, give you medicine to take with you, and issue a medical certificate and receipt in English for your travel insurance claim.

When to call 119 instead

If the person is unconscious, has difficulty breathing, is having a seizure, has severe chest pain or is bleeding heavily, call 119 for an ambulance. 119 is free and answered 24 hours a day. A house call is for illness that is not an emergency of that kind but is too difficult to leave until morning.
